Jumps and Drops Course

by Max Neely, June 20, 2017

Jumps and Drops Course @ Danny Harts Descend Bikepark- Postponed until July 2018 – Saturday 16th June 2018 – 9.30am-3.30pm

Get more airtime. This course aims to help you get better at taking drops, jumps and feeling more confident carrying speed through these features and getting air. Starting with work on body positioning and bike skills, we’ll look at technique for both jumps and drop offs in isolation along with some work on cornering. We’ll start with technique practice and rollable drops and more progressively up, using the 4X and DH tracks(top and bottom sections).

Suitable bikes– 150mm+ bikes to DH bikes. Full Face Helmet required. (Available from Descend Bikepark to hire).

Skill Level– DH Intermediate – You’ve ridden DH tracks before and done uplift days and are happy to try jumps/drops but sometimes avoid them – or try and squash them/keep low as it seems easier/safer. You know your technique isn’t prefect but your willing to have a go and keen to get more airtime in a more predictable way. If you’ve not been on a DH track before- try our DH1 skills course which is on 2 weeks later. (Saturday 30th June).

Start/Finish Time – 9.30am-3.30pm with a short break for lunch around 12.30. Please bring £5 for Descend Bikepark pass.

What we will be working on– Jumps and drops- Tabletops, doubles, drops to flat/to a slope. Technique always comes first then progressing as the day goes on. Feedback via video analysis to show each step of the way and check your progress.

Booking process: Once you book your slot, you will receive a booking confirmation and a form to fill in with your current riding experience and any particular things you’d like to work on. Price includes a full day of skills coaching 9.30-3.30pm . Please bring £5 to cover your Descend Bikepark pass.
